Title: Making Web 2.0 Work for You
Date: Wednesday, 28 October 2009
Time: 9:00am- 4:05pm
Location: The Old School Board, Leeds
As teaching content and materials continue to move out of the controlled
University Virtual Learning Environment and onto the wider web, educators
face new challenges and opportunities for innovation. The current Web 2.0
technologies are based on the idea that users generate content within
established web environments, and the possibilities for Teaching and Learning
applications are boundless.
This workshop will focus on the important issues, concerns and implications
that arise when your teaching practice leaves the safety of the classroom.
How can the physical sciences embrace Web 2.0 technology and the related
aspects of social networking on today’s internet? You’ll see and discuss
examples of practice from the field and gain new insight into how you might
integrate new techniques and technologies into your own teaching.
