The West Country Division of the Career Development Group are pleased to
announce a one-day course, ‘Marketing yourself and your service’, to be held
on Monday 23rd November 2009 at North Swindon Library between 10.00am -
4.45pm
Event information: This one-day workshop offers a morning session on
marketing your own skills and an afternoon session on marketing your service.
The workshop, run by Nicola Franklin of Sue Hill Recruitment will cover
“Marketing your skills – getting that promotion” and “Marketing your Service –
Why are we here anyway?”
This one-day course will enable participants to enhance their ability to market
their own skills and their service, and is a great opportunity for those working
towards Certification or Chartership, or professionals considering their next
career move. The session will cover the following areas:
• Identifying your skills
• Your “marketing material” – CVs, Application Forms and interviews
• Organisational Objectives/Information Service Objectives
• Promoting your Service/Overcoming barriers
Participants are asked to bring a copy of their own CV to the workshop.

Date: Monday 23rd November
Time: The workshop will begin at 10.00 a.m. (with registration and
refreshments available from 9.30). Lunch will be taken between 1.00 and 1.45
p.m. The workshop will close at 4.45 p.m.
Venue: North Swindon Library, Orbital Retail Park, Thamesdown Drive, Swindon,
SN25 4AN
Cost: The cost of the workshop is including VAT
All day: For one session either morning or afternoon:
Non Member = £50 Non Member = £30
Cilip Member = £40 Cilip Member = £25
CDG member = £35 CDG member = £20
Student = £15 Student = £10
This inclusive cost will include coffee/tea and biscuits, but lunch is not
provided. Attendees are welcome to bring their own lunch or lunch can be
purchased from nearby shops.
Cheques should be made payable to CDG West Country Group. Invoices can be
provided on request. Cancellations received after Monday 9th November will
incur full payment costs. Substitutions can be made at any time.
The workshop is limited to 20 people so early booking is advisable.
