Information everywhere but who is using what?
For engineers and technologists there is a multitude of information sources to
use in work and education - this event will look at the differences between
education and practice and some of the new sources coming through.

The all day event will begin with sessions from a university academic and an
engineer who will go through the sources they use in their work on a day to
day basis. This will be complemented by a session from a technology librarian
who will go through the sources she recommends to students.
The afternoon session will include a session examining scholarly information on
the web, a look at how sources are being used in VLEs and a lively session on
the merits of federated searching vs specialist databases.
