In our sector we meet a variety of people and stakeholders at events, meetings, and conferences. We are always being told these are excellent opportunities to 'network' but not everyone is a born 'networker'. This course is designed to help us overcome our fears and make us better and more effective networkers.
By the end of the day, delegates will:
· Be familiar with all the basics & principles of networking
· Gain tips and ideas to help you develop new working partnerships and network better internally
· Be able to work any room with increased self confidence ensuring you leave with those all important contacts and information
· Have an increased awareness of how you can influence your standing and profile in the sector and within the organisation you work
· Understand what it takes to be a great networker
· Feel comfortable following up contacts after the event and help establish new partnerships
· Have networked with colleagues from the library sector
The day will be split into a three sessions.
· How to network
· Working the room
· How to follow up opportunities in a confident and professional manner
