Information is a vital business asset in any organisation and needs to be
efficiently managed to ensure its ethical and appropriate use. Information
governance is about those structures, policies and practices which support
this and the accompanying rules, rights and responsibilities of those
responsible for information management.
From legal compliance with FOI, Computer Misuse, Data Protection and
Copyright through information security to quality assurance and openness,
ensuring the integrity of information is a challenging task.
CILIPS is offering a one day workshop introducing information governance
(12 places available) delivered by experts from Aberdeen Business School.
This is an opportunity to explore information roles, rights and
responsibilities in the context of managing information in all sectors and
the course takes place on Thursday November 12th at the JISC Regional
Support Centre, Glasgow.
