UNIVERSITY LIBRARY
Applications are invited for the post of Metadata Librarian in the Services and Operations Division of the University Library. Based in the Robinson Library, you should be an enthusiastic and forward-looking cataloguer with substantive experience and a strong working knowledge of current cataloguing and classification standards, particularly MARC 21 and Dewey Decimal Classification, together with an awareness of existing and developing standards such as Dublin Core and RDA. You will need a good honours degree and postgraduate qualification in Library or Information Studies or equivalent. In addition, you should possess highly developed IT skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to organise your work and time effectively, to show initiative and to work independently as well as part of a team. You should also have some supervisory experience, experience of an integrated library management system and of working in an HE environment.
Hours of work are Wednesday afternoon plus all day Thursday and Friday (18.5 hours per week).
Salary: up to £28,839, rising to £35,469 (pro-rata) per annum
