We've run bdii, lfc, voms, creamce & amga in virtual machines.
Network performance was fine, memory you allocate as needed, CPU seemed
to cope similar to a real machine.
The only thing to watch out for is the disk usage - that tends to grind
a bit if you have multiple VMs on the one box.
