Dear HER colleagues
We are writing to seek your input into a survey we are undertaking on
behalf of ALGAO into GIS usage and sharing among English HERs. Attached
are two documents - a letter giving an introduction and context for the
survey from Dave Barrett and the survey questionnaire itself.
<<GIS standards and practice questionnaire.doc>> <<ALGAO GIS survey
intro.doc>>
Given the flurry of postings on HER Forum last week regarding data
sharing and recording events in GIS, it is evident this is a timely
piece of research that will hopefully stimulate further discussion and
benefit from further investigation and sharing of expertise between
HERs.
We fully appreciate the number of surveys that are being undertaken at
the moment, and ask for your support in making the results of this one
robust and representative. If anyone has any questions or requires any
clarification, please don't hesitate to drop either Paul Cuming or me an
email. The timescales are invariably tight, and we would greatly
appreciate your responses by Wednesday 11th November.
Many thanks for your cooperation and input.
Best wishes
Sarah
