**** Apologies for cross posting ****
The Archaeology Data Service is a partner in the Archaeology Of Contemporary
Europe (ACE) project, http://www.ace-archaeology.eu/ funded by European
Union Culture Programme. This is a wide ranging project researching many
aspects of professional archaeological practice in a number of European
countries. As part of this process ACE have produced a questionnaire which
gives archaeologists the opportunity to let colleagues out with the UK know
how they work, how their organisations are structured and what changes might
have occurred in their practice in the last year or so.
If you are interested in participating in this phase of the project by
completing a questionnaire please let me know by email at the ADS
([log in to unmask]) and I'll make sure that a questionnaire is sent out to
you (in MS Word format) in the next week or two. Although the questionnaire
is quite short, it asks some detailed questions relating to the number of
archaeologists in an organisation, how it is funded and how many and what
type of archaeological interventions it has been involved with. The ACE
project is particularly interested in responses from archaeological
contractors, local authority and university archaeologists.
Best wishes,
Stuart.
