I don't think you are doing anything wrong - assuming you have the
required permissions etc...
Did you try rfrm that will also delete the physical file so take longer
but still better to keep these things in sync.
I realize that you said you want to remove the whole pool. Is that right?
If that is the case, and you are using the poolname reported by
dpm-qryconf then dpm-rmpool should work. Though probably you should
delete the data as you say first.
