The Refugee Studies Centre, Oxford Department of International
Development, University of Oxford, is pleased to announce that Jan
Egeland will give the 10th annual Harrell-Bond lecture. Mr Egeland was
the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and
Emergency Relief Coordinator from June 2003 to December 2006. In
September 2007 he was appointed Director of the Norwegian Institute of
International Affairs. The lecture will be entitled ‘Beyond blankets: in
search of political deals and durable solutions for the displaced’.
The lecture will take place on 18 November at the University Museum of
Natural History, Parks Road, Oxford (OX1 3PW). The event will start at
5pm and will be followed by a drinks reception.
