This post about the NIH free public version of the Medline database may be
of interest to some of the members of this discussion group.
As of 16 July 2009 (2009 -07-16)[update], PubMed has approximately
19,000,000 citations going back to the year 1865.
PubMed is a free search engine for accessing the MEDLINE database of
citations, abstracts and some full text articles on life sciences and
biomedical topics. The United States National Library of Medicine at the
National Institutes of Health maintains PubMed as part of the Entrez
information retrieval system.
