Hi all
looking for some peer- support groups in Italy (I live in Brescia, about one hour drive east of Milan) for multiple disabilities
My brother is in a wheelchair just like I am- we suffer from an unknown genetic degenerative disease, which causes weakening of legs and arms, more or less, very close to muscular distrophy. Besides, he has low vision problems. He sees 1/10 in one eye, and 1/50 in the other.
Any suggestions on counselling groups? Any ideas on even leisure activities he could enjoy? Any good books or movies we could read/watch? Any insightful story to share?
We are currently undergoing a very tough phase...cause my brother is deciding whether to abandon math at university, his passion but really almost impossible with his sight, and switch to literature, or not...
any ideas on jobs he could do in the future?? to me, math does not give that many possibiltiies... he has a hard time using the pc, of course, therefore all the bank- finance stuff is not that ok... and also teaching math would not be easy at all, considering the very poorly technologically equipped public schools... writing on a blackboard would be quite a hard task already...
for these and other reasons, my family and I are pushing for literature. He could be a journalist, or be an Italian teacher, for instance etc...
but won't bother u with our story anymore
any help welcome
thanks
