Hi again (I fell out of bed this morning).
Yoel Sussman advised me to look into Proteopedia (
http://www.proteopedia.org ) as a way to explain to students, scientists
and lay people what we (structural molecular biologists) do.
I never had the time to check that site before. But I did last night and
I was impressed. You can pick a structure randomly. You can search using
the PDB identifier code. And if you do not remember the PDB identifier
code but only remember the name of one of the authors (which is what
usually happens in my case, I am not very good at remembering the PDB
identifiers) you search the data base using that name.
What you get are two images of the structure, one in 3D that you can
manipulate. Plus the abstract of the publication. So all the important
information on a short web page.
Needless to say that I immediately forwarded this information to the
leonardtv people.
And I hope this information will be useful to you as well.
Thanks for having taken the time to read this.
Best,
Fred.
