A reminder about the RSS Pre-Ordinary meeting, 14 October (details below).
If you have a poster close to the topic, please bring it along, to

Pre-Ordinary meetings (PrOMs) is a new venture organised by the new
Young Statisticians Section at the Royal Statistical Society. The aim
of Pre-Ordinary meetings is to make the read papers more accessible to
PhD students, young statisticians and those not familiar with the area
discussed in the read paper.
The meetings are held just before the Ordinary meetings and consist of
two 30 min talks, one providing introduction to the area covered by the
read paper and discussion of current problems, and the other giving a
informal presentation of the read paper. The latter talk is
normally given by the author(s) of the read paper. Additional
contributions are welcome in the form of posters following the talks.
We would particularly encourage PhD students and young statisticians to
present their work.
We ask all those who intend to attend the meeting to register at the
RSS website (registration is free). Those wishing to present a
poster email their name, institution and the poster title to
[log in to unmask] a week before the meeting.
