Hi Vera
For definition of night workers check Working Time Directive. You only need do a questionnaire for all although you must offer an interview if they would like one and would also see anyone who declares problems on their questionnaire. All should be repeated annually.

Hello,
With regard to health assessments for night workers, we are reviewing our procedures and I would like to ask what people define a "regular night work" For screening purposes do you include permanent night workers or any people who work a regular shift pattern that may include night working as part of this. Does everyone do a paper screen for those identifies as "regular night workers"
Many thanks for this

Hi Yvonne
Although quite dated Dr Nicholsons article covers the legal obligations and health issues offering guidance with both. I agree with Jane in that there is some stability offered with this however I don't know what is best in terms of good practice benchmarks. The Working Time regs are good to refer to and I would advise undertaking a nightworkers paperscreen for those who operate between 11pm-6am which you probably do already. There is also some debate about increase in cancer reported in shiftworkers too.
Hope this is of assistance to you
