This is a note I just sent to Charmaine Crockett, Pac Rim conference
co-chair, and Robert Stodden, Center on Disability Studies director.
People who have forwarded previous posts about this situation, please
forward this update everywhere you've posted earlier messages about it. And
please drop them a note to let them know how many people appreciate what
they've done. And anyone who can afford (or get
funding) to go, please submit some fantastic proposals to them!

Subject: Autism topic in PacRim CFP

Dear Charmaine and Bob,
Thank you for your responsiveness to my concerns, and the concerns of the
Autistic self-advocacy community, regarding the autism topic in your
conference Call for Proposals. The new version, which I've just reviewed at
http://www.pacrim.hawaii.edu/pacriminfo/pacrim2010/topics/foundation/topic01
.php
, is much more respectful toward Autistic people, and much more aligned
with the interests and the pressing concerns of our community.
Your willingness to listen and to change is greatly appreciated. I hope this
new CFP will bring you many excellent proposals that will make Pac Rim a
leading force in introducing the international disability community to human
rights concerns of the Autistic community.
