I seriously doubt that these specimens are larvae. Larvae have tiny
legs either along their bodies or near the head. I also do not see
evidence of a structure that could be defined as a head or even mouth
parts. Also, they do not look like any caterpillar droppings I have
collected. To me, they more closely resemble a seed, although I have
never seen one quite like them.
If these are carbonized, you might try dissecting one of them and see if
they have some sort of internal structure.
