1. Association news

1.1 A new issue of the ALT Journal – Volume 17 Issue 3 - is available
online. It is a special issue on mobile and contextual learning edited
by Mike Sharples and Agnes Kukulska-Hulme. There are full details
including direct links to each article under 7 below.

1.2 ALT response to the consultation by JISC on the 2010-2012 Draft JISC
Strategy is now in the ALT Open Access Repository at

1.3 http://altc2009.alt.ac.uk/posts/6563972 has links to videos of three
keynote speeches and 8 invited speaker sessions from last month's ALT
conference. We encourage you to forward this link to links to individual

2.1 The 2010 ALT Conference: "Into something rich and strange" - making
sense of the sea-change
Nottingham, UK, 7-9 September 2010.

1. Proposals for inclusion in the programme will be accepted between 30
November 2009 and 15 February 2010.

2.2 ALT cross-sectoral good practice workshop on the use of handheld
devices in teaching and learning.

Supported by Becta, facilitated by Gilly Salmon, and run at the National
College for School Leadership in Nottingham, this workshop aims to bring
together experienced practitioners from primary, secondary, further and
higher education  and work-based learning, to compare, share, and
document successful approaches.
We expect demand for places on this workshop to exceed supply, and we
need also to ensure a balance of participation from different sectors.
