Kingston University’s CITY NETWORK is a new initiative designed to provide a
focus on cities and urban environments across, and beyond, the university.
At the heart of the Network is the TWIN CITIES seminar series. The format
involves two invited speakers per session, selected for their contrasting
approaches or topics, and the potential for dialogue they offer.
The first session will be on 14 October from 5.30pm and will explore different
approaches to Spatial Representations.
The speakers will be Dr Will Brooker (School of Performance and Screen
Studies, Kingston University) “Now you’re thinking with portals: media training
for a digital world"
and
Dr Rupa Huq (School of Social Science, Kingston University) “The sound of the
suburbs: representations of suburbia in British pop and youth culture”.
The session will be followed by a drinks reception. Everyone is welcome!
