In Australia (like everywhere else), we go through periodic flurries
of knee-jerk installation of CCTV cameras, and (separately)
recriminations about how useless they are.
So the Aust Privacy Foundation needs to have a Policy Statement that
it can roll out to the media each time it happens.
Our current DRAFT, AS-YET UNRELEASED! version is here:
http://www.privacy.org.au/Papers/CCTV-090907.html
Any feedback would be valued, especially:
- good Guidelines that should be referenced
- good Studies of CCTV in action that should be referenced
Thanks!
