Enoch Soames is the eponymous (and hapless) prptagonist of Max Beerbohm's
celebrated tale (first published in book form 1919).
I found the site as I'd just read Alan Wall's novel 'The Lightning Cage'
which features Pelham and was looking for any reference to it.
