Earlier this month 150 people gathered at Liverpool John Moores University for the second Media Education Summit organised by The Centre for Excellence in Media Practice (www.cemp.ac.uk/summit).
Delegates gathered to hear Andrew Chitty, Michael Wesch, Tom Loosemore, Jeff Jarvis debate the pertinent issues in Media Education. MP3s and PDF transcripts are now available of those talks as are a number of parallel session presentations.
Please see: http://www.cemp.ac.uk/summit/presentations-podcasts.html
So if you are interested in hearing/reading about what little impact HE had on the Digital Britain agenda (Chitty) or how 4iP is seeking to 'hold power to account' (Loosemore), or how engaging students with real problems can move them beyond their 'Whatever' malaise (Wesch) or how Universities should be more like Google (Jarvis)...then check out the links above.
