Hello all
A museum is planning to show a film within a space that is open to
visitor flow, and is not sound-proofed from adjoining spaces. That
means using a loudspeaker is out, as those listening to the film could
be disturbed by noise from adjoining spaces, and those in adjoining
spaces might be disturbed by the noise of the film.
The proposed solution is a set of wireless headphones, which visitors
can pick up at the back of the room, and deposit again on their way out.
Anyone have have any idea what the total costs are likely to be, where
to get them - or whether there is an alternative solution?
Just to make it more complicated:
Ideally it would be nice if visitors could also select from multiple
languages. For that to be possible I guess the headphones would have
to be specially designed. One answer: offer headphones attached to
PDAs or some other handheld device, on which they can choose language
and also perhaps subtitles etc? Obviously the audio and subtitles must
be synched.
Thanks
Martin
