That's exactly what happened. I emailed the person who had forwarded the

enquiry asking why they had sent it to me, the reply was that it had

been sent in error and I should ignore it.

I got the same message - I think maybe someone at Eduserve forwarded it

to all Athens administrators?

Hi Zena,

What a coincidence! I got an e-mail this morning, forwarded by a person

in

eduserv, from a physiotherapist in Malta asking how they could access

Athens. Sounds as if there is something strange going on?

Regards,

Odd things happen with an Athens account....We always urge our users to

apply for an account using an NHS PC, as 'the other way' takes longer -

verification & all that. The latest applicant is a nurse in Melbourne

(yup,

that Melbourne) - how she got an email through to me is a mystery,

unless

she was seriously trawling the web; and I've been forwarded an email

correctly addressed to eduserv from someone in Malta wanting to know

how,

there, they could access Athens - a legit enquiry.

It strikes me, though, that it's perfectly possible - given the format

of

our usernames [nhsinitialsurname3numbers] - that somewhere in England

there's another J Fox.... and it's s/he who has 'saved' the searches.

Try

giving the user a longer name (i.e. josefox014) & see if the problem

replicates; I bet it won't.

We have recently issued a new Athens account - nhsjfox014 - to one of

our

users, who joined our Trust last month. During a training session on

HDAS

she discovered that several searches had already been saved against this

account, and NOT by her. How can this have happened is, as she assures

me,

she has never used HDAS with this account before, and has not passed

account

details to a colleague? How secure is this facility, and could

potentially

confidential material be accessed by people with no right to it?

I'm copying in several distribution lists to this query as I suspect the

problem and your response may be of general interest.
