UKSG Training Programme awarded CILIP Seal of Recognition
UKSG is delighted to announce that its training programme has been awarded the CILIP Seal of Recognition.
UKSG offers a wide range of educational events focusing on the challenges and issues related to working within the information community and managing e-resources. Courses are offered for participants at various stages of their careers and include exchange-of-ideas seminars and an extensive and affordable programme of courses and workshops.
Heather Taylor, Adviser, Qualifications and Professional Development Department at CILIP commented "UKSG demonstrated that their well-established CPD programme is continually being updated and developed in response to the ever-changing needs of the attendees and the information marketplace. The UKSG were especially commended for providing good introductory and updating sessions on e-resources for both information professionals and other interested professionals."
The CILIP Seal of Recognition scheme was developed to acknowledge the important contribution made by providers of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for the library and information community. The Seal of Recognition recognises high standards in the content and relevance of a wide range of training and development activities, and is awarded to CPD providers that directly address an element of CILIP's Body of Professional Knowledge (BPK). Applications are reviewed by independent assessors from the CILIP Accreditation Board.
Tony Kidd, Chair of UKSG said of the award "We are delighted that our training programme has been recognised by CILIP in this way. Our education committee and our trainers work extremely hard to make sure our courses are current, relevant and affordable for all participants. The feedback we receive from attendees is always extremely favourable and we are proud that several organisations within the information community consider our courses to be mandatory training for their staff."
Thanks
