Dear all
Re: reviewing uncatalogued material
At the University of Birmingham we are currently undertaking a stock moves
project to relocate or withdraw items that haven’t been borrowed for at
least five years. This has been fairly straightforward as the items are on
our online catalogue. We would also like to review some older material that
is not on our online catalogue. Previously, we have asked our academics to
physically review stock and flag up any items (using coloured slips of
paper) that they would like kept but this is a tedious process and not very
systematic.
What we would like to know is if anyone else has undertaken a similar review
of older, uncatalogued material. If so, are there any tips that people
would be willing to share about making the process a bit more systematic?
I’d be happy to summarise for the list.
Regards,
Nancy
