Hi All,
apologies for cross-posting.
here are the suggestions from the list in answer to my previous
question:
For general information see:
http://www.ictknowledgebase.org.uk/bulkemailsoftware
Issues to consider:
● Data Protection (of subscribers list)
● Internet connectivity in order to utilise online software
● Internet / Intranet presence to store newsletters
Software / URL / Access / Features
phplist / http://www.phplist.com/ / Open-source newsletter manager;
free to download / Manage email lists & subscriptions; Text & html email
messages
Newzapp / http://www.newzapp.co.uk/ / Various price packages dependent
on no of subscribers, Online access / Create branded emails, manage
subscribers; track email campaigns. Features available depend on price
Dotmailer / http://www.dotmailer.co.uk/ / Online access; variety of
price packages / Email html templates; manage email lists, manage email
campaigns
Graphic Mail / http://www.graphicmail.co.uk/site/default.aspx / Online

Google Feeder /
https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=feedburner /
Google freebie / Save RSS feeds, then use “publicize” to set up and
allow users to subscribe to the feeds. Need a website in order to put
the “subscribe to” code somewhere and allow users access to it;
useful if you have your own blog and want to allow users to email
updates
Mail Chimp / http://www.mailchimp.com/ / Couldn’t load some of the
pages, other than homepage; Free option (500 subscribers) otherwise
monthly fee based on number of subscribers / Seems to allow monitoring
of subscriptions; create html emails
Issuu / http://issuu.com / Websense blocked; Kept crashing the Internet
Café computers; Possibly free but including adverts / Looks like it
allows you to upload and store documents; claims to allow you to edit
the documents into a sort of magazine style
Lyris / http://www.lyris.com / Web-based tools or traditional
installed software (Lyris ListManager) / “suite of online-marketing
solutions, including email marketing, deliverability tools, content
creation, Web-analytics software, search marketing and mobile
marketing”
Constant Contact / http://www.constantcontact.com/index.jsp / Monthly
fee based on number of contacts / Create emails (including templates);
email list management; image hosting; tracking; archive hosting (extra)
Suggested by Kath Williams - Various different options for turning RSS
feeds into a PDF document.
Feedbooks: http://www.feedbooks.com/
Flexta: http://www.rss2.co.uk/
Tabbloid: http://www.tabbloid.com/
Feedjournal: http://www.feedjournal.com/
5 filters: http://fivefilters.org/
Zinepal: http://www.zinepal.com
There do appear to be lots of other companies offering services -
generally described as online/email marketing services and the features
available seem to be pretty consistent. Thanks for all the help.
Regards,
Cheryl.
