Hi,
I am curious to find out how other libraries deal with books and their
accompanying CDs/DVDs that are usually supplied in a panel or pouch on the
inside back or front cover.
At CCCU, the practice up to now has been to keep them separate and treat
the disk as an entity in its own right. The problem with this approach is that
it involves extra work i.e. processing of CD, creation of bibliographic record
etc. I am not overly convinced that our users are aware of the accompnaying
material hence my curiousity to find out about the approach taken by other
libraries.
This is a topic that has come up before but looking at the lis-link archive it
has been some time since it was last raised. I would be interested to see if
there has been a change in approach.
Thanks for your help and I will sumarise responses for the list.
