I don't know if this is ok for you but we use the following config
for mrepo for this task:
cat /etc/mrepo.conf.d/glite31.conf
## Name: gLite for SL4
### URL: http://glitesoft.cern.ch
[gLite]
name = gLite mirror
arch = all
metadata = repomd
glite-31 = http://glitesoft.cern.ch/EGEE/gLite/R3.1/
