I have drawn up a short bibliography of published works relating to higher
education institutional archives.
Many of these writings originate from the U.S. and may include discussion of
wider university special collections issues, but all have something to say on
managing institutional archives.
I must confess I have not yet read all of these articles, but I can vouch that
a number of them are enlightening about various aspects of university
archives. I have not included, for the most part, publications from the 1970s
and 1980s which are now out of date, or anything that relates narrowly to
records management in universities. The list also does not include unpublished
papers & presentations on similar themes which may be available on the Web.
I hope the list may be incorporated in the Higher Education Archivists Group
website (currently under development). If you know of similar publications,
perhaps you could share them with the list.
Best wishes,
