Permanent position available for a Fragment-based Lead Generation (FBLG) Specialist.
Based at Alderley Park, UK
If you're an expert in crystallography and FBLG, here's the chance to make a key impact with a major pharmaceutical company.
About the role
Playing an influential role in drug discovery, you'll demonstrate the power of fragment-based approaches in lead generation projects. It's a fantastic opportunity to enhance our capabilities in this area and to provide mentorship for less experienced scientists. As well as leading FBLG projects, you'll also contribute expertise in crystallography and complementary biophysical techniques.
About you
We're looking for a PhD-qualified scientist with expertise in X-ray crystallography and crystallisation applied to the study of protein:ligand complexes. In addition to academic post-doctoral experience, you should have a strong track record in fragment-based drug discovery. This will include experience of collaborating with medicinal and computational chemists to drive FBLG projects.
About us
One of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies, AstraZeneca is committed to developing innovative medicines that make a real difference to people's lives. We believe FBLG approaches will be increasingly important in the quest to find new medicines. In this role, you'll drive our progress in this area.
