ACAT Service Specialist Clinical Technologist - Kent & Canterbury Hospital (EKHUFT)
Due to the creation of a new Adult Communication and Assistive Technology Service in East Kent we are seeking to recruit a Rehabilitation Engineer (AfC Band 6 Clinical Technologist) to join this team which is based within the Medical Physics Department of the East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. This new post offers an exciting and challenging opportunity to be involved in establishing and developing this Service in East Kent.
We are looking for a Clinical Technologist with experience in the area of Electronic Assistive Technology. The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management of assistive technology equipment. The post holder will join a multidisciplinary team of two Clinical Scientists, a Speech and Language Therapist, an Occupational Therapist and an Administrator. You will provide support for the team and clients in the area of high tech communication and assistive technology devices.
The post is based within the Clinical and Rehabilitation Engineering Section of Medical Physics. This section comprises of three Clinical scientists and five Clinical Technologists who provide a range of services in East Kent including Special Seating, Posture management, specialised powered chair control and electronic assistive technology.
The post requires that the candidate holds, or is eligible for membership of the Voluntary Register of Clinical Technologists and has a degree or equivalent in Electronics/Computing. Prior experience in Assistive Technology would be seen as an advantage. Good communication skills are necessary, as is the ability to show initiative and work independently.
