PROJECT ARCHIVIST
£22,000pa (1 Year Fixed-Term Contract)
An interesting opportunity for an archivist to carry out original work in a rich,
but as yet under-researched, field in connection with Dreamland at Margate,
Kent.
Following a successful Heritage Lottery Fund bid, the project will develop
world's first amusement park to solely feature thrilling historic rides, combined
with a national centre for the celebration of seaside heritage, popular culture
and street style.
The Project Archivist’s role will be to seek out, evaluate and record historic
material relating to Dreamland and its position as one of the premier sites in
the United Kingdom for popular entertainment. Archival material relating to the
site is known to be scattered widely throughout the country, although little is
catalogued or publicly accessible.
We are looking for an enthusiastic historian with a passion for popular culture.
The post will require some travel.
