£25,622-£31,358 p.a. (Two posts)
CTSU is a leading centre for epidemiological research into the causes, prevention and treatment of chronic diseases. In collaboration with the China National Centre for Disease Control, CTSU is carrying out one of the world's largest prospective epidemiological studies, the Kadoorie Biobank Study. The study involves 515,000 adults recruited during 2004-8 in 10 regions of China, with detailed assessment of participants, collection and storage of blood samples, and long-term follow-up of health status for many years. It is a unique resource for investigating the environmental and genetic determinants of chronic disease in China and the results generated will improve understanding of disease aetiology.
We are seeking a self-motivated, methodical person with training and experience in medical statistics, as well as good interpersonal and computational skills to assist with the statistical analysis of the project data. You will be based in the CTSU, undertaking statistical analysis of cross-sectional and longitudinal study data using standard and novel techniques.
In return, we offer 30 days annual leave, a competitive salary and a final salary pension scheme. Please note that final appointment will be subject to pre-employment screening.
