Postgraduate Biography Conference: History, Mystery & Myth
Saturday 14th November From 9.15 AM TO 8.00 PM
Elizabeth Fry Building at the University of East Anglia, Norwich, NR4 7TJ
Delegate registration is now open for the 2009 Postgraduate Biography
Conference. This is a unique event bringing together critical and creative
responses to recent trends in life writing, and promises to be a great forum for
new researchers and writers to meet and share their ideas. Whilst the
conference is chiefly aimed at current and recent postgraduates, anyone with
an academic or professional interest in biography is welcome to attend.
The day will commence with an introduction by Kathryn Hughes (BBC Radio 4's
Open Book, The Short Life and Long Times of Mrs Beeton) and conclude with
an evening round table discussion featuring biographers DJ Taylor (Thackerary,
Orwell: The Life), Lucasta Miller (The Bronte Myth), Jon Cook (Hazlitt in Love)
and Helen Smith (Biographer's Club prize winner 2006), who will discuss themes
arising from the day's four postgraduate presentation panels.
Registration is essential and spaces are now limited. If you would like to
attend please book using the form available on the conference website:

The registration fee of £20 includes a buffet lunch and evening wine
reception. On campus accommodation is available at an additional charge.
