Hi Mark,
This is the result of the ctrl-\ combination after starting splat on OS X 10.5:
~> splat
Starting SPLAT
SPLAT_DIR = /star/starjava/bin/splat
^\/star/starjava/bin/splat/../starjava: line 214: 1132 Quit
$java $props ${1+"$@"}
Typing ctrl-\ may not have the desired effect in OS X. When I try this
on a Linux system at my institute, it gives much more elaborate
messages.
