Stephen, many thanks for this tip. I can see a line running from
Stieglitz to Adams and on to Cindy Sherman which runs as a critique of
representation. A reading of Nietzsche goes along with this, also, in an
interesting way I had not considered before. Stieglitz's clouds as a way
of refusing figure and representation, etc.?
I should explain this more fully but I am tired and depressed since the
shutter blades have fallen out of the shutter on my old 90mm Super
Angulon just as I started doing some test shots for a series of
landscape and still life double prints (ie montage) I have been thinking
about. I should get a couple of decent large format lenses, a 210mm
Plasmat and a decent 90mm. I am getting quite sick of poverty, but this
is nothing new for most artists and writers I know. Best, Chris Jones.
