Hi

In the food industry it is commonly used because the operators stand in one

position for protracted periods, they swear by it and having put lids on

pies for 8 hours (well you have to don't you) I can personally testify it

does make a difference!

Have a good bank holiday one and all...

Anti fatigue matting is what is used in gyms to absorb some of the impact –

personally I’m not convinced

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] fractured ankle and lightweight safety shoes

I wonder if anyone can help. I have seen a chef who fractured his ankle

early in 2009. I believe he would benefit from some lightweight comfortable

safety shoes, can anyone recommend any – that are okay in a food

environment?

I’ve suggested he is provided with anti fatigue matting and looked at the

manual handling aspects of his job.

He’s still having physio, is there anything else I could recommend?

Thanks in anticipation Suzanne
