Suggest that she gets herself referred to access to work. There are
loads of equipments that she may find helpful such as a portable loop
system or a radio mike but it does depends on what aids she has, how she
uses it and on personal preferences. However it is should be recognised
that it can also amplify everything else ie paper rustling, the air con
unit etc! While you can get used to it with regular use, she may benefit
from other means of support as well such as someone else taking the
minutes etc.

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] hearing problem
Dear list,
I have an office administrator who is getting increasingly frustrated
when
attending meetings. She has bilateral hearing aids but finds it
increasingly
difficult to hear what everyone is saying, hence making her job in
taking
minutes more difficult. She has coped quite well previously but as
groups get
bigger she cannot filter out conversations properly. Has been to her
local audio
dept. with not much help. Wondered if anyone has suggestions or know of
any
special equipment for such problem.
Thanks in advance.
