Further to my last message.
Jeremy Greenwood has just reminded me that many of the statistical
sources listed at
http://people.exeter.ac.uk/pfclaugh/mhinf/location.htm were published
by command of Parliament. They are therefore included in the
Parliamentary Papers held by many research libraries, either as
original copy or on microfiche. In addition they can be accessed on
line through http://parlipapers.chadwyck.co.uk/home.do although, in
general, you would need to be a member of a subscribing organisation,
university or other higher education institute.
I will amend the web-page above giving the locations for the printed
primary sources to indicate which of the sources might be accessed in
Parliament Papers.
