Bernard,
I have also had problems with the HSE in trying to find records of defunct
explosives factories, even where the factory numbers were known. These were
all factories closed pre WWII (and pre-Nobel). I have been able to locate
company information from PRO but precious little use in interpreting the
actual sites.
