Here in the Midlands we are currently advertising a one year hub funded post
which aims to improve computersied collections documentation for 5 museums
in the Black Country area (Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall & Wolverhampton area)
prior to putting collections information online.
The post has been given the title of 'IT Development Assistant' but the work
is more varied than the job title would imply as it will involve getting to grips
with our computer based collections management systems to enter information
about objects, to set up controlled terminologies, and look at ways to improve
data quality across the five museums. There will also be an element of
website development / maintenance which will involve working with our
website provider to mprove our online collections website
www.blackcountryhistory.org, monitoring web stats and looking at our use of
Flickr, GoogleMaps etc.
Please can you circulate to anyone who you think might be interested.
Applications need to be in by 1 Sept, apply online at
http://www.wmjobs.co.uk or application packs are available through the post
by emailing [log in to unmask]
