I seem to recall that some of the early LA Presidential addresses, published
in the early volumes of the LA Record, have been regarded as seminal in
their fields, that of John Small, Librarian of Edinburgh University and
President of the LA ca1880, being a case in point. I don't have ready
access to these early volumes any more. Could anyone else check?
