Many thanks to all those who helped with my enquiry on highlighting tools.
This might be of interest to others on the list, so here are the responses:
I-lighter (http://www.i-lighter.com/home/howto.html) is quite good.
There is this tool in Word - would be easy to upload the file to the VLE
and then students can save their own copy and then e-mail it to course
leader etc.
Adobe Captivate has this functionality and is quite easy to use. There are
training courses on this that are good.
Maybe Diigo http://www.diigo.com/introduce/home could help? It would only
work for web pages though.....
There are quite a few tools that do this and also let you put post-its
on web pages if you'd like students to add more information. If I
remember rightly Diigo, Wizlite & ButterFly have highlighter and post-it
options; MyStickies and Protonotes are just the latter.
I think that Phil Bradley has a longer list on his 'I want to...' Web
2.0 listing on his website.
Best wishes,
Linda
