Hi Max and everyone, that link you gave us from Informs service requires users to register. Here are some others I've found:
1) Intute offers free Internet tutorials for university students freely available in the Virtual Training Suite at Intute: http://www.vts.intute.ac.uk/

Introducing the Intute: Virtual training Suite http://www.vts.intute.ac.uk/suppmaterials/Intute_VTS.ppt
How are other staff using the Virtual Training Suite? The following case studies offer ideas and materials from lecturers and librarians which might be adapted for use in your institutions. The case studies include lesson plans, resources (workbooks, handouts and powerpoint presentations) and ideas for class activities.
Using the Virtual Training Suite in:
* a staff development workshop
* library information skills training
* teacher training / staff development in ICT
* courses, building in group work activities
* embedding in Virtual Learning Environments
2) 12 free shareable information literacy modules developed through the University of Otago in New Zealand which address the 6 ANZIIL standards - and can be completely adaptable and customised through your own website or LMS:
Information Literacy e-Learning Modules - Reusable and portable across a College of Education, a Polytechnic and a University: http://oil.otago.ac.nz/oil/index.html
3) The University of Sydney has developed some really neat interactive modules which I don't think are shareable but may give you some ideas on interactive information literacy skills training using latest technology: 1) University of Sydney library: http://www.library.usyd.edu.au/
* "iResearch" - learn (animated teaching lessons) or play (interactive games to learn Info lit skills) - http://elearning.library.usyd.edu.au/learn/index.php

Hi Nancy and list members,
The Informs service has several thousand units (learning objects) which any HE user can take and modify/use. Many of these are on information skills.
http://www.informs.intute.ac.uk/informs_perl/login2.pl
While many of these are mainly aimed at undergrads, basic intros to database use eg for Pubmed, ASSIA, Cochrane or whatever, are just as useful for 'researchers' whatever their previous experience or level of skills. Researchers often have less information literacy than we might assume.

Max

Subject: Information skills material to support researchers
Hi all
I have an odd feeling I may have sent out a similar email before but can't find
anything in the archives...
We are looking to develop some online material to support our researchers'
information skills. However, as an advocate of re-using/re-purposing others'
learning/teaching material, I thought I would first ask the list if anyone out
there has already developed any relevant material.
If you have and you would be willing to share either the material or your top
tips for developing such content, please get in touch.
I will summarise for the list.
Best wishes,
Nancy
