There are two possibilities.
Either you have told it to come back with an artifact (by specifying that
end point in your request), or the metadata is wrong or doesn't mention the
return point so it has guessed wildly what to do and decided to go artifact.
The IdP Logs are available (hint - do this in the morning when there is less
traffic and they will be less busy) and you will be able to use them to see
its chain of logic in getting to artifact profile.
