How did you try and convert them?
You should be able to do:
fslmerge -t vol4D im1 im2 im3 im4 im5 im6 im7 im8
which would combine the images in the files im1.hdr, im1.img, etc
into vol4D.nii.gz. If you look at this resulting image with fslinfo
it should show dim4 equal to 8.
Note that you do *not* want to do the following:
fslmerge -t vol4D im*
or
fslmerge -t vol4D im*.hdr im*.img
as both of these would create lists of 16 images (assuming there
were only 8 pairs in the directory that matched this). When using
FSL with hdr/img pairs, you can specify the basename (no extension)
or *either* the .hdr or .img extensions, but not both.
