Ditto. Generally we find funding through ECS budgets, control of a computer after all, is comparable to control of a TV - I imagine, though I've not seen evidence, that most would find it more important.

Hi Mike
We provide computer access assessment as part of alternative access assessment here at Chailey ( We look at communication, powered mobility, ECS, integrated access etc as well as computer.)
We provide service to local clients but also accept referrals in from further a field where there are gaps in service. We assess and make recommendation also support teams to get funding for any equipment recommended.

Subject: Computer access assessments
Hi all
Do any of you working in NHS departments provide computer access assessments to local clients? By this I mean access to PC or laptop for email/word processing/internet, not AAC or ECS. We have provided this service for some years and I would like to know if we are offering something unusual, to help justify continued funding.
I am aware of Ability Net and the Ace Centres as we do work in conjunction with these on occasions.
Thanks
Mike Broadhurst
