Hi Mike
Computer accessibility is one of our main areas of EAT provision (along with AAC, custom wheelchair controls, integrated systems and occasionally ECS). We cover the East Kent region and have some funding to provide access equipment and/or software. Things do become difficult however, when it comes to extremely expensive equipment such as Eye-Gaze devices.
I agree with Jeremy. As an NHS service, we can offer impartial advice and are in a position to provide a more holistic service for severely disabled clients, where some degree of integration may be required.
Regards,
Aejaz

Hi all
Do any of you working in NHS departments provide computer access assessments to local clients? By this I mean access to PC or laptop for email/word processing/internet, not AAC or ECS. We have provided this service for some years and I would like to know if we are offering something unusual, to help justify continued funding.
I am aware of Ability Net and the Ace Centres as we do work in conjunction with these on occasions.
Thanks
Mike Broadhurst
